- We have launched VV program in eight nearby villages to Amalner. VV is mainly based on Activity Based Learning (ABL) Techniques. Main objective of VV is to ‘Develop Scientific Attitude in age group of 10 to 15 years old pupils’. Presently we are working with 400 students of 6th & 7th class in 08 Zilha Parishad (Government Schools). These villages are within 20 km radius from Amalner. We visit these schools once a week to conduct 2 hour session in their class. These classroom sessions include following things,
- Concept Clearing Activities : Scientific concepts from the textbooks are getting cleared with the help of simple, easy to do & self explanatory activities. For this we provide some material to students for their active participation.
- Skill Orientation & Practice : We have selected 08 different skills which are required for project based learning. These skills uncover in front of students with the help of small projects assigned to a group of 3-4 students.
- Project Based Learning : The urge for getting knowledge will be developed among the children by making them capable of doing hands on projects related to their day to day lives.
VidnyanGhar
(Community learning center)
This is the pilot project to look for the impact of learning by doing and informal learning techniques on children.This is out of school activity planned for children for the same age group. In this we are setting up one centre in our house at native village called Wavade in Amalner block.
Tinkering Lab will be the part of it in which children will try to transform their ideas into reality. Children will also use this lab while doing their science project work. This centre will also be used for introducing study skills, doubt clearing of academic studies, extra-curricular reading (books, magazines, news papers), informal discussions on current affairs etc. The observations will be analyzed and if findings will be positive then such type of centres will be introduced in other nearby villages as well.
VidnyanGhar is functioning since December 2020 & 35 children from Wavade village are regularly visiting the centre. We are conducting activities related to origami, art & craft, basic study skills, scientific concept clearing experiments and also accessing their cognitive level.

(Teachers Training Program)
We are working on science education though activity-based teaching techniques. This process is going on since last 8 years with variety of students. These techniques help in generating positive impact on students’ understanding & scientific attitude development. Most of the students from rural area are marginalised with respect to this joyful, concept clearing and interactive learning. To reach maximum number of such students, we have planned to work with science teachers in the government schools of Amalner Tehsil. We have launched the pilot project of teachers training program in August-2022. We are working on regular basis with science teachers in addition to organising workshops. This is handholding process with teachers to inspire them & make them confident for use of activity-based teaching techniques. At present 15 science teachers are direct beneficiaries & nearly 1300 students are indirect beneficiaries.
Dr. Kalam Mobile Science Lab
(Science lab on Wheels)
This is the joint project with the local NGO here named Marwad Vikas Manch. We are knowledge & implementation partner in this pilot project which has been started from October 2023. At present it has been implemented in 20 Government aided schools in rural area of Amalner block. It has been designed to cover the scientific concepts of the classes 6th to 10th with interactive models. Mobile Science Lab project has the force motors company 26-seater bus which has a structure to store the material, working tables, Audio-Visual facility. This bus goes to schools and conduct activity-based sessions to educate students in science subject.
